Hello! I’m Shahzeb

Director and Speech & Language Therapist

I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2012, with a BSc Hons in Speech and Language Therapy from Birmingham City University.

I am HCPC licensed and have RCSLT membership, and i’m a member of the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP).

I am an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with 12 years of experience in NHS and independent practice. I have experience of working with children age 18 months to 17 years, in schools in Birmingham, and in independent practice.

I have experience of working with children who have variety of speech, language and communication conditions including speech disorder, language delay, global developmental delay, stammer, children who have Autism Spectrum Conditions, Developmental Language Disorder.

I have 3 years of experience in Adult Community Services working with adults who have neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, as well as Stroke rehabilitation.

I am experienced in working with swallowing disorders (dysphagia), however, I do not wish to work with these types of difficulties in independent practice. If your enquiry is regarding dysphagia, we can signpost you to your local NHS service, or please contact your GP for support to refer client to local NHS dysphagia services.

As a Speech and Language Therapist Assistant at Bloom Speech and Language Therapy in Birmingham, UK, I specialise in improving communication skills for individuals with Autism and language delays, implementing personalised treatment plans in clinical settings, home sessions and nursery visits. Additionally, as a former Junior Software Developer at Code Institute, I honed skills in Python and JavaScript to create custom applications and assistive technologies for speech therapy. With previous experience in addressing various communication disorders at Allied Medical Centre and Sharif Memorial Hospital in Pakistan, I’ve developed tailored interventions for clients of all ages, emphasising collaboration with families and healthcare professionals. My BSc Hons in Speech and Language Therapy (Hons) from the University of Health Sciences in Pakistan, alongside a commitment to leveraging technology, underscores my dedication to enhancing therapy outcomes and promoting the well-being of individuals with communication disorders, particularly focusing on Autism and related conditions.
